FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AWARD WINNING WINTER FOR ADVENTURE TRAVEL COMPANY
Toronto, Ontario, CANADA, April 24, 2001 — Call Of The Wild, an innovative soft adventure company based in Toronto, has capped a successful winter season with a handful of international awards.
Recently, at the Canada Travel Awards in London England, company president Robin Banerjee accepted the award for “Creative Excellence & Innovation”. Both Canadian and British travel industry executives attended this prestigious black tie event. It marks the second year in a row that Call Of The Wild has walked off with the award. “We are extremely excited to be chosen for the second year in a row. It demonstrates that the travel industry recognizes us a leader in the field,” said Mr. Banerjee.
This most recent award comes on the heels of success here at home. The Canadian Tourism Commission held a contest to determine the “Best Winter Package in Canada”. Three programs offered by Call Of The Wild were selected by a panel of judges as “Regional Champions”, and two of those went on to be selected as “National Runners-Up”. The purpose of the contest was to foster awareness of winter opportunities and to help attract tourists to Canada during a traditional slow period.
Since 1993, Call Of The Wild has been offering tourists, both international and domestic, the opportunity to experience the Canadian wilderness. During the summer months – typically a popular time for outdoor activities – tourists can enjoy a number of activities in Ontario’s Algonquin Park including canoe trips, ATV safaris or, new for 2001, a Native Indian cultural weekend. Winter months allow would-be adventurers to try their hand at dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, or a combination of activities. “Winter has actually become our busiest season,” said Mr. Banerjee. People get so excited when they learn that they can ‘mush’ their own team of Huskies. These recent awards should help build awareness of the high calibre of our trips and generate even more excitement”.
